Krix Megaphonix

In a dedicated home cinema, surround speakers do more than reproduce sound. They also create a sense of space around the audience. As a result, movement, atmosphere, and effects can feel more connected to the action on screen. Krix Megaphonix is an on-wall loudspeaker made for this type of cinema environment. It delivers high output with controlled coverage.

For this reason, Megaphonix works well in rear and side surround positions. Its 15-degree angled front baffle supports wall mounting. In addition, the speaker covers 90 degrees horizontally and 40 degrees vertically. This helps spread sound across the listening area. It also gives the system designer more flexibility when positioning speakers around multiple seating rows.

At the same time, Megaphonix combines a 255mm bass driver with a 26mm doped fabric dome tweeter. A Krix-designed waveguide helps control the speaker’s dispersion. Furthermore, the enclosure uses internal bracing and critical damping. Its top-vented bass reflex design also supports low-frequency performance. Together, these elements help reproduce demanding film soundtracks with clarity and dynamic impact.

For a premium residential cinema in the Philippines, Megaphonix provides a practical on-wall solution. Unlike an in-wall speaker, it does not require installation inside the wall. Instead, rear keyhole mounts support straightforward wall installation. Moreover, Megaphonix belongs to a five-speaker family. This allows it to work with compatible Krix models in a complete cinema system.

Ultimately, Megaphonix forms one part of a carefully planned cinema system. Therefore, room size, seating positions, screen location, and speaker placement should all be considered during system design. The following sections explore its technical design and its role in a dedicated Krix home cinema.
